A rooftop is the best seat in Bangkok for the midnight fireworks, and on 31 December every rooftop sells the night as a package: a party ticket, a countdown dinner or a table with a minimum spend. Here is what is on sale, who announces next, how the packages work, and what the night costs this year.

The famous hotel sky bars usually announce in November: Vertigo at the Banyan Tree (reopening 2 December), Sky Bar and Sirocco at Lebua, Yao at the Marriott Surawongse and Bar.Yard at the Kimpton Maa-Lai. We add each one here the day it goes on sale; their prices from last year are further down.

How New Year’s Eve Works on a Rooftop

• The package replaces the menu. On 31 December a rooftop does not serve its usual menu or take its usual walk-ins. It sells the night as a package, booked and usually paid in advance, and the bars are full by early evening.
• Three kinds of package. A party ticket (entry, the countdown, usually a couple of drinks, a DJ or a band), a countdown dinner (a set menu or a buffet with a seat for the fireworks), or a table with a minimum spend per guest. Some rooftops sell all three at different prices.
• Net or ++. “Net” means the price includes service charge and VAT. ”++” means both are added on top, which adds about 18%. A ฿9,900++ dinner costs about ฿11,700.
• Age. The bar parties are for guests aged 20 and over. The rooftop restaurants take children at dinner, though some set a minimum age for the countdown night, so ask when you book.
• Dress code. Smart casual at the least, and smarter for the dinners: no flip-flops, no sports vests and, for men, often no shorts.
• Which fireworks. Each rooftop faces one display: the river, CentralWorld or Sukhumvit. Match the rooftop to the fireworks you want with Where to Watch the Fireworks.
• Book by early December. The cheapest ticket tiers and the best tables go first, and prices rise as the night gets closer.

Banyan Tree Bangkok: Vertigo Is Back for the Night

Vertigo and Moon Bar, the open-air rooftop on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree on Sathorn, have been closed for renovation since June and reopen on 2 December 2026, four weeks before New Year’s Eve. The hotel has not published its New Year’s Eve plans for 2026 yet, and we will add them here the day it does.

Last year gives a good idea of what to expect. On 31 December 2025 the hotel ran a masquerade night across its restaurants, with tickets sold in advance and paid in full: a seven-course countdown dinner at Vertigo for ฿24,999 net per person, from 8 PM to 2 AM, with no guests under 12; a dinner at Vertigo TOO, one floor down, at ฿7,999, or ฿9,999 with the after party; a party at Saffron Sky Garden on the 52nd floor at ฿5,999, for guests aged 20 and over; and dinners at Bai Yun and Romsai at ฿4,999.

The dress code for Vertigo was smart and elegant: no shorts, sleeveless shirts or flip-flops for men.

What It Costs This Year

The 2026 prices published so far, lowest first. “Net” is the final price; ”++” adds 10% service charge and 7% VAT on top, so ฿3,955++ is ฿4,655 to pay. Centara Grand’s nine are compared, with a calculator for your group, on our Centara Grand page.

As a rule of thumb, a rooftop party ticket costs ฿3,000 to ฿5,000, usually with a couple of drinks included, a rooftop dinner ฿8,000 to ฿35,000 per person, and a table for a group costs more again.
