The Rooftop Deck

The boat has three decks. The top one is an open-air rooftop, kept narrow on purpose so that both banks of the river stay in view from your table, with about 200 to 250 guests up there.

Rooftop seats must be booked in advance: choose the rooftop option when you book. Below it, the first and second decks are air-conditioned, with floor-to-ceiling windows. Guests with an indoor seat can still go up to the rooftop at any time.

  • Tables are set for the size of your booking: your own table, never shared.

Dinner and the Show

Dinner is an international seafood buffet of more than 30 dishes: grilled river prawns, beef steak, roasted duck noodles and a barbecue, salmon sashimi and sushi, Thai curries and vegetarian dishes. A welcome drink greets you, then soft drinks, water, tea and coffee are included.

Singers perform live through the evening, and a troupe in gold headdresses dances a traditional Thai classical show on deck.

  • A vegetarian set menu is free on request: send a message through GetYourGuide after you book.
  • Celebrating a birthday or an anniversary? Tell the crew the same way; they can bring a cake and a song.

The Route

The boat leaves Asiatique at 8 PM and passes Wichai Prasit Fort, Wat Arun, the Grand Palace, Wat Kalayanamit, the Santi Chai Prakan pavilion, ICONSIAM and the Rama VIII Bridge, back at Asiatique at 10 PM.

When the river runs unusually high, no three-deck boat can clear the Memorial Bridge. For safety the route then turns south instead, to Wat Bukkhalo and the Rama IX Bridge. A sudden change in the water level can mean a last-minute change of route.

If It Rains

The cruise sails as usual. Rooftop guests move down to the air-conditioned first or second deck, where the windows still give you the river, and there is a seat for everyone. Umbrellas are on board, and you can go back up for the view and photos.

  • Moved guests are seated by availability, with no choice of table: if a good indoor table matters to you, book an indoor seat from the start.
