Bangkok's 10 Best Rooftop Bars:
Our Favourites Right Now
Ultimate Guide · 12 min · Updated 17 June 2026
Our honest ranking of the 10 best rooftop bars in Bangkok right now (June 2026) — from CRU's champagne sunsets to Tulum's fire shows — with the views, food, music and who each one is really for.
There’s no shortage of “best rooftop bars in Bangkok” lists online, and most of them rank the same handful of skyscrapers by height. This one is different. These are the rooftops we genuinely keep going back to, ranked from real nights out across the city — judged on the view, the food, the drinks, the music and the crowd, not just the floor number.
Some are world-famous; one or two are still flying under the radar. We’ve tried to be honest about what each one does brilliantly and where it falls short, because the “best” rooftop in Bangkok really depends on the night you’re planning. Here’s our current top 10 — plus a bonus one to watch — as of June 2026.
1. Aether
Our number one at the moment is also one of Bangkok’s most exciting recent openings. Aether sits 44 floors up at the Central Park Offices on Silom, and it doesn’t look like anywhere else in the city — a 360-degree, space-age cocktail lounge built around a futuristic, almost sci-fi design, with a sound system and DJ programme to match.
We’ve been coming since its grand opening on 19 December 2025, and across the events we’ve seen here since, one thing is clear: on a big night the energy is hard to beat. This is one of the few rooftop bars in Bangkok that turns into a genuine party rather than just drinks with a view. The major events land on Fridays and Saturdays, so that’s when you’ll catch it at full tilt.
A word of honesty, because we’d rather you arrive with the right expectations. During Bangkok’s rainy season — roughly June through September or October — the event calendar can thin out, and the crowd won’t always match the packed clips you may have seen on social media. That doesn’t make it a write-off: Aether is a great visit any day of the week, for the design, the cocktails and the view. It takes the top spot because, on form, nothing else in the city feels quite this new or this alive — whether the minimalist, sci-fi look is your taste or not.
2. Spire
Spire, on the 39th floor of the Dusit Thani, is the most complete all-rounder on this list. It opened in mid-December 2024 — we were there for the opening, and still remember it as a wonderful evening. The view over Lumpini Park, with Bangkok’s skyline rising behind it, is exceptional. It’s a similar sweep to the one you used to get from the So/Bangkok pool — same orientation — but from Spire you’re far higher, for a clean view across the city framed by the hotel’s golden spire. Unusually, that view is matched by both the kitchen and the bar: the cocktails are genuinely very good, and the food is a reason to come in its own right.
What pushes it up our ranking is that it refuses to choose between elegant and energetic. The music programming is strong — we’ve caught some great DJ sets here — but the mood stays more relaxed and romantic than at its neighbour Aether. An early dinner rolls naturally into drinks and a genuinely luxurious atmosphere.
If you’re looking for romantic rooftop bars in Bangkok, Spire is one of our first suggestions — it’s made for a refined date night where the view, the food and the cocktails all land at once. One honest caveat: you don’t really get the sunset here any more. It’s now hidden behind the Dusit Central Residences tower going up directly behind the Dusit Thani and its rooftop. Come for the view and the cocktails rather than the sundown itself.
3. CRU Champagne Bar
CRU Champagne Bar is all about altitude. Set on the 59th floor above Centara Grand at CentralWorld, it’s one of the highest places to drink in central Bangkok, with a true 360-degree view that takes in the whole city in every direction. For sunset, it’s one of the strongest options in town — few rooftops put you this high, this centrally, under this much sky.
It is, as the name says, a champagne bar, and the drinks are priced to match — this is the splurge end of the list rather than a cheap round. But you’re paying for the setting: the elevation, the panorama and that particular, exclusive feeling of standing on top of the city as the light turns pink. For a special occasion, or a sunset you actually want to remember, it earns it.
Pair it with one of the rooftops lower in this list — Red Sky on the 56th floor, or Cocoa XO on the 57th — and you’ve got two or three completely different experiences in the same tower.
4. Amber Bar
If we had to send you to one lesser-known rooftop, it would be Amber Bar — still one of Bangkok’s best-kept rooftop secrets, though the word is clearly spreading. Lately it’s been busy: parties and events run here almost every Friday and Saturday, and even on weekdays the rooftop gets taken over by event organisers, corporate evenings, networking nights and dating mixers. It opened less than two years ago on top of the Wyndham near Asok — we were there for that opening too — right beside Benjakitti Park, and that location gives it something almost no other rooftop in the city has.
The view is why we rate it so highly. You look out over the green of Benjakitti Park in the foreground, with the Sukhumvit and wider Bangkok skylines rising behind it — that layering of park and towers is genuinely unusual, and it makes for one of our favourite rooftop views in Bangkok, especially at dusk.
The open-air rooftop itself isn’t enormous, but it comfortably holds a party of around 150 to 200, and there’s a second, indoor level on the floor below, so the venue works across two floors and in any weather. Expect craft cocktails and live music or DJ sets. It’s an easy recommendation for a group who want a standout view without the skyscraper-rooftop crowds.
5. Cocoa XO
Cocoa XO is the most unusual entry on this list — and a genuine gem most visitors never find. Ride up to the 57th floor of Centara Grand at CentralWorld, the same tower as CRU and Red Sky, and you land somewhere that swaps the usual gin-and-a-view formula for something far more decadent: cognac and chocolate, served at altitude.
The centrepiece is the Chocolate Cave — a true rooftop treasure for anyone with a sweet tooth. For around 900 baht you get unlimited premium chocolate creations: less a buffet than a tasting room with a serious sugar habit, built to be paired glass-for-glass with Rémy Martin cognac. Resident DJs keep the room warm and unhurried while you work through it, and the Ratchaprasong skyline does the rest.
It’s smart-casual, quietly romantic and a little theatrical — the kind of place that turns a date or a celebration into something people remember. Come before sunset for the light over the malls and temples below, then stay as the chocolate gives way to beats. There’s nothing else quite like it in the city; the full story is on our Cocoa XO rooftop page.
6. Yao Rooftop Bar
Yao Rooftop Bar, on top of the Bangkok Marriott Hotel The Surawongse, is the one to choose when you want a lesser-known option with some of the best views of western Bangkok — including the river. Spread across two spacious floors, it looks out over the Chao Phraya, ICONSIAM and a run of other Bangkok landmarks: a more cinematic outlook than the inland-skyline rooftops elsewhere on this list.
It’s also a proper kitchen, with a modern Chinese menu (the dim sum is a highlight) that makes it as good for dinner as for drinks. Between the river views, the food and the room to breathe, it rarely feels cramped even on a busy night.
Yao has resident DJs most nights and runs occasional parties and special events on top of that, so it’s worth following Bangkok Rooftops and the venue’s own channels if you want to catch one. Day to day, it’s a reliable pick for sunset drinks — and the sunsets over the river here are something else — a long dinner, or simply the best river view on this list.
7. Red Sky
Two floors below CRU, in the same tower at Centara Grand at CentralWorld, Red Sky occupies the 55th and 56th floors — and it’s one of the city’s longest-standing big-name rooftops for good reason. The panoramic views over central Bangkok are excellent, but what really sets Red Sky apart is that it’s as much a destination restaurant as a bar.
That’s the key difference to get right before you book. Red Sky Restaurant, on the 55th floor, is the one for a full rooftop dining experience — a proper sit-down dinner with the city laid out beneath you. The Red Sky bar upstairs, on the 56th floor, is built around cocktails, sunset and a sweeping panorama. Same building, two genuinely different nights.
For a grown-up dinner with one of the best high-rise views among Bangkok rooftop restaurants, Red Sky remains a benchmark.
8. Tulum SkyBar
Tulum SkyBar is the most theatrical entry on this list — and the one where you don’t come for the view. We’ll be straight about that: from the 29th floor of Estella Ekkamai, the skyline outlook is pleasant but not in the same league as the taller towers higher up this ranking. If a jaw-dropping panorama is your priority, several others here do it better.
What Tulum does better than almost anyone is atmosphere. There are regular fire shows, good DJs, creative cocktails and a genuinely excellent Mexican kitchen, all wrapped in a lush, Tulum-inspired setting. It’s loud, fun and built for a night out with a group — and on Fridays and Saturdays, Club Veyla downstairs picks up the baton for after-parties and late-night dancing.
So think of Tulum as an experience rather than a viewpoint. People come back for the food, the entertainment and the party energy — and on that score, it absolutely earns its place.
9. Pastel
Pastel, on the 22nd floor of the Aira Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 11, is one of Bangkok’s best-known rooftops and has been packing out for several years now. It sits a little lower than the headline skyscrapers, so the view isn’t the strongest on this list — though on a clear evening you can still catch a pretty sunset over Sukhumvit.
Where Pastel wins is the party. Few rooftops in the city stage a night this well: dancers, live musicians, performers and bar-top entertainment build the energy steadily until the place is genuinely buzzing. It’s one of our top picks among rooftop bars with DJs and live shows in Bangkok.
That said, it would be unfair to file it as “just a party venue” — the Mediterranean food and the cocktails are both very good. The move is to arrive for dinner and let the evening tip into a full-blown party as the night goes on. For that arc, Pastel is one of the best in Bangkok. Planning a big birthday with friends? This is a strong choice — get in touch and we’ll help you line up the best option.
10. View
View proves that a great rooftop isn’t only about altitude. Set on the 9th floor of the Novotel Platinum in the Pratunam and CentralWorld area, it sits much lower than the skyscraper rooftops elsewhere on this list, so you shouldn’t arrive expecting a high-altitude, horizon-to-horizon panorama.
What you get instead is a closer, more textured outlook over the CentralWorld district and the busy streets around it — a human-scale, in-the-thick-of-it view of the city rather than a distant one. For a lot of nights that’s actually more fun: you feel part of Bangkok rather than floating above it.
It’s a stylish spot with good cocktails and Mediterranean food, plus a relaxed, well-designed atmosphere that makes it easy to settle in for the evening. If you want a lower-key sunset and city view without the queues or price tags of the big towers, View is a smart, characterful choice.
11. Sato San
Our bonus pick, and the newest name on the list: Sato San opened on 31 December 2025, so it’s still young, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What it already has going for it, though, is a lot. The location is excellent, on top of the Moxy in the CentralWorld area, and the rooftop is spacious, well put together and genuinely good-looking.
The kitchen leans into a Thai-Isaan-meets-Tokyo idea, the food is strong, and there are regular DJs keeping the rooftop lively rather than sleepy. For a venue that’s been open less than a year, it punches well above its age.
We’re recommending it now precisely because we think it’s one to watch — get in early and you’ll have been before everyone else. Just don’t expect a decades-deep institution; the whole appeal of Sato San is that it’s fresh.
Which Bangkok rooftop should you choose
The honest answer is that the best rooftop in Bangkok depends on the night you’re planning. Here’s how our line-up breaks down by occasion:
- Best for panoramic views: CRU Champagne Bar and Red Sky — same tower, top of the city — with Spire close behind.
- Best for a romantic date: Spire, for the view-food-cocktail trifecta; CRU Champagne Bar for a special occasion; Cocoa XO if you want something different and a little decadent.
- Best for parties and DJs: Aether and Pastel, the two that most reliably turn into a real night out, with Tulum SkyBar for sheer entertainment — and Above Eleven if you fancy a salsa night (its salsa parties usually land on Wednesdays or Thursdays).
- Best for food: Red Sky, Pastel and Yao Rooftop Bar for a proper dinner; Tulum SkyBar for Mexican with a show; Above Eleven for Peruvian-Japanese.
- Best hidden gems: Amber Bar for the park-and-skyline view few people have found, and Cocoa XO for its 57th-floor Chocolate Cave.
- Best for sunset: Aether and CRU Champagne Bar for altitude, Yao Rooftop Bar for the river, View for a lower-key, in-the-city golden hour.
No single rooftop wins every category — which is exactly why we keep all of them in rotation.
The bottom line
Bangkok’s rooftop scene moves fast — new openings, new parties, new views — and this ranking moves with it. Right now, in June 2026, these are the ten (plus one bonus) we’d actually take a friend to, each for a different reason: altitude, romance, food, a party, or a view you won’t find anywhere else.
Use the list as a starting point rather than gospel. Match the rooftop to the night, and when you’ve found your own favourite you’ll understand why we can’t pick just one.
