16 Best Rooftops for Families in Bangkok
16 rooftops
Rooftops that welcome kids: child-friendly skylines without an adults-only door policy.
Most Bangkok rooftops run an over-20s door policy. Some check passports at the lift. So finding a skyline the whole family can share takes local knowledge, and that is exactly what this page is.
Every venue below publishes a policy that welcomes younger guests. We list them all, not just ten. When a rooftop states an age rule, you will find it quoted on its page here, and this list updates as policies change.
Where to start depends on the crew you are bringing.
With toddlers or a stroller, skip the sky bars entirely. The sixth-floor riverside terraces at ICONSIAM, Fallabella River Front and Bianca Iconsiam, open from late morning, serve the food children actually eat, and keep baby chairs on hand. Same Chao Phraya glitter, none of the door drama.
For a special occasion, aim high. Sirocco welcomes all ages under its golden dome, and the Vertigo restaurant at the Banyan Tree runs a proper kids' menu 61 floors up. Teenagers chasing the famous photo can head to Sky Bar at Lebua, which admits ages 7 and up with an adult.
On a budget, go east or go early. Cielo in Phra Khanong charges no entry fee, and Cooling Tower welcomes kids aged 7+ before 8pm, neatly inside its happy hour. For something kids will talk about afterwards, Aesop's smashes plates tableside and Akara Sky Hanuman is a whole rooftop attraction, with digital art rooms and a sky night market. A lazier daytime option: the Pool Deck at Centara Grand.
Two more worth knowing. Above Eleven pairs a playful urban-park design with a dedicated kids' menu, a combination younger diners rarely get at altitude. And Scarlett sets no age limit at all, so parents keep the Michelin-listed wine list while the kids keep their seats.
One trap to know: several buildings split their policy by floor. Octave seats all ages in its 45th-floor restaurant but keeps the upper bar floors 20+, and CHAR welcomes under-16s in the restaurant while the rooftop bar starts at 16. Book the dining room, not the bar, and the lift ride ends well.
Two habits make every family rooftop night better. Arrive at golden hour, around 5:30pm, when the light is best and the room is calmest. And dress the family smart-casual for the hotel venues, children included.
