A Torchlight Safari in the City
Bangkok Herping (operated by the Toopet team) runs the city’s most original night tour: a 3-4 hour guided expedition through Bangkok’s hidden green spaces, canals, and urban jungle zones, by torchlight, in search of the nocturnal wildlife most visitors never see. Pythons, monitor lizards, vine snakes, geckos, frogs, turtles and, on lucky nights, even cobras.
When and Where
Tours run several evenings a week, with departures around 8:30 PM from the Asok area and a return near midnight. Groups are kept small: 12 guests at most, with one guide for every six people. All equipment is provided, no special skills are required, and the tour suits adventurous travellers from age 10 upward.
Your Guides
The tours are led by experienced herpetologists who speak English or French. Among them are Chris, a globally known reptile breeder with a particular expertise in king cobras, and Dawn, an American biologist and long-time Thailand resident.
