UNO MAS at Centara Grand

Ride to the 54th floor of Centara Grand at CentralWorld and the lift opens onto something different from the usual sky bar: a proper Spanish kitchen with the whole of Ratchaprasong laid out beneath the windows. UNO MAS does tapas, paella and Mediterranean plates at altitude, and it does them for the long haul: open from midday through to 1 AM, so it works for a late lunch with a view, a sunset dinner, or a long table of friends well into the evening.

What to order

The menu reads like a tour of Spain. Start with Iberian cold cuts, a tapas board and gambas pil pil, then move to the centrepiece: paella, whether the classic Valencia, a seafood version, or the dark, briny black rice. There’s a whole grilled or fried sea bass for the table, Spanish suckling pig for a celebration, and churros to finish. Wash it down with red sangria or work through a wine list that leans, naturally, Spanish. Halal-friendly dishes are available, worth flagging when you book.

Good to know

This is a polished, semi-al-fresco room rather than a fully open-air terrace, so the views come through glass and the weather never interrupts dinner. Last food orders land around 10:15 PM and the bar runs to a quarter to one. Book ahead for sunset and weekend tables. The window seats go first.
