Fifty-five floors up, the lift doors open and the city just unrolls beneath you. Red Sky Bar & Restaurant sits on top of Centara Grand at CentralWorld, in the thick of Ratchaprasong, and the trick here is that it does two things at once. There’s the bar, and there’s the restaurant. You can treat it as a quick stop or a whole evening, and Red Sky doesn’t make you choose.

Come early. The doors open at 4 PM, and the smart move is to be up here before the light goes. Bangkok at golden hour does something to this skyline, and from 55 floors the 360° sweep is the whole point. Watch the towers switch on one by one as the sun drops. The illuminated arch overhead turns the place a different colour as the night settles in, and the crowd shifts with it.

Drinks first, or dinner

The bar handles the casual end. Signature cocktails, light snacks, a martini after a CentralWorld shopping run with no reservation required. Prices start around ฿490, which for a perch this high is fair. The adjoining restaurant is where it gets serious: upscale European plates from Chef Luca Russo, the kind of menu built around a Wagyu Tenderloin Rossini and a properly indulgent Surf & Turf. This is sit-down, take-your-time territory.

A few things worth knowing. Book a table if dinner is the plan, especially at weekends when sunset seats vanish fast. Dress smart-casual; this is a polished room and you’ll feel it if you turn up in flip-flops. Our Dress codes, decoded guide spells out exactly how far you can push it. And if the wind picks up, the open edge gets breezy fast, so factor that in.

Red Sky runs until 1 AM, so there’s no rush to move on. But Ratchaprasong is dense with options if you want to keep climbing. CRU Champagne Bar is a short hop away for bubbles at altitude, and Cocoa XO makes an easy nightcap. Want to plan the light around it? 7 rooftops for golden hour maps the best timing across the city.

Red Sky earns its spot. It’s the rare rooftop that works for a martini, a milestone dinner, or both in one night without missing a beat. Get up there before sunset and let the city do the rest.
