Cielo Sky Bar
Rooftop Bar & Restaurant · phra khanong · 46F
Most Sukhumvit rooftops fight for the same downtown skyline. Cielo trades it for a better deal: a seat 46 floors up on Sky Walk Residences, out east in Phra Khanong, where the city stops shouting and starts to glitter. You get the towers in the distance instead of in your face. The 360 panorama wraps the whole place, and the front-row seats put nothing but a railing between you and the drop.
The location does half the work. You step off the BTS, walk 150 meters, and you’re in the lift before the heat catches up with you. No taxi gamble, no Sukhomvit traffic crawl. That’s rare for a view this good, and it’s why Cielo belongs on any sensible Sukhumvit after dark route through the eastern end of the line.
The room, and when to go
The design leans into 1960s elegance with a whisper of Art Deco: warm light, clean lines, the kind of room that flatters everyone in it. It’s a restaurant as much as a bar, so the cooking is taken seriously and the drinks list reads like someone actually thought about it. Come hungry or come for cocktails; either works.
Timing matters. Doors open at 5:30 PM, which is your cue. Get up here before sunset, claim a front-row seat, and watch the light go soft over the eastern sprawl. This is one of the terraces we send people to in our golden hour shortlist, and the quieter angle is exactly why it earns the spot. Drinks start around ฿490, the kitchen and bar run until 1 AM, so there’s no rush to clear out once the lights come up across the city.
Before you go
Book ahead, especially for a weekend sunset table, the railing seats go first. Dress smart-casual; this is a polished room, not a flip-flops crowd, and our dress codes guide covers the fine print if you’re unsure.
If Cielo’s calm, elevated mood is your thing, keep the night going. Swing west for the high-energy buzz of CRU Champagne Bar, or settle into the easy welcome of The Norm Bangkok. Want more options across town? Here’s every Bangkok rooftop we’ve stood on. But start here, at the city’s quieter, higher edge, where the skyline keeps its distance and the view feels like it’s yours alone.
