Stand at the Asok BTS and Sukhumvit MRT interchange and look up. The tower right above the junction is the Montraj Continent Sukhumvit, the hotel formerly known as The Continent. Axis & Spin is its 38th floor.

Location is the whole argument here, and it is a good one. You are drinking directly over the busiest crossroads in Asoke, with the panorama running down the length of Sukhumvit in both directions. At night the traffic below turns into moving light.

One venue, two moods

Axis & Spin is a two-in-one: a refined lounge and a restaurant sharing the same floor and the same view. The music stays vibrant without tipping into club territory, which makes it a natural first stop after work or a last stop long after midnight.

That second part matters. The bar runs until 2 AM daily, which is late for a Bangkok rooftop. When the sunset spots downstairs start stacking chairs, this floor is still pouring.

The kitchen sends out sharing plates built for grazing between cocktails. Fin de Claire oysters. Smoked duck breast. A marinated prawn and olive salad. Plates sit in the ฿380 to ฿520 range, with 10% service and tax on top.

The insider note

The same tower stacks three venues: the H2O pool bar on 37, Axis & Spin on 38, and Bangkok Heightz serving modern Thai on 39. Book dinner upstairs, then drop one floor for the long tail of the night. That is the local play.

Dress smart casual and book ahead for a rail-side table at golden hour. Sunset from this height, straight down the Sukhumvit corridor, is the shot everyone comes for.

The name is a leftover from the venue’s original two-part layout, a restaurant axis and a bar spin joined by a spiral staircase. These days the action lives on 38: one floor, one view, no choosing required.
